From the words of the chorus, the subject of the piece seems to have been gay and joyous, and the music, though it is now forgotten, we may suppose, from the character of the composer, to have been brilliant and effective. Steibelt's success was confined to pianoforte music; and some of his works for that instrument, as well as those of Dussek, Woelfl, &c, deserve to be rescued from oblivion. This season was also remarkable for Mrs. Anderson's first appearance at these concerts.
